My husband and I recieved a getaway package in which you can choose one of 3 vacations. We won this package through a spin and win promotion at a local car dealership.
Through the company you are able to choose betwee a 5 day trip to Cancun, a 5 night Cruise, or 2 nights in Vegas.
Being a skeptic, I did some online research only to find that the company is NOT listed at the address you have to send your $40 non refundable deposit to.
Just wondering if anyone else has had an experience with these travel giveaways. Thankfully we have not lost any money because of them.

Hi, my roommate just got caught up in a drug charge with his friend in Las Vegas, Nevada. They apparently had 7 lbs of marijuana in their luggage and got arrested. It’s his first offense and they are charging him with intent to sell. I did some research for them and did find out a bit about Nevada laws. According to one site, they could get probation or a suspended sentence… or up to 4 years… However, the drugs weren’t “packaged for sale” or anything and they didn’t have any paraphernalia on them. Nor do they have proof of just whose it was.. Just trying to plan for the future, their court date is December 21st. He was a cannabis patient in California and apparently it has just been legalized in Nevada. Is jail time more probable than probation? Just looking for some help because I’m going to have to move and find a new place for my dog end of the month if things get worse.

It was around Christmas, a couple of days before Christmas to be more specific. He and my mom have been fighting (though not physically) and haven’t been talking for 3 months. When they’re both home, they either avoid or ignore each other. My dad slept in the guest room the whole time, his clothes and bathroom utensils were even placed in a seperate bathroom. Basically, he got kicked out of their room.

Three days before Christmas, he suggested to my mom that we spend our Christmas in Las Vegas. She agreed to it, in which became the window for communication for them both. But the night before we left, my dad and I had a fight. He was supposed to speak to his siblings and mom (my grandma) in the Philippines via video call. I lent him my laptop to do so. My mistake, which I openly admit, was I didn’t stay by him to help him, step by step. Their video calls kept getting disconnected because of the poor Internet connection in the Philippines. After three tries, he lost it. He blew up, started slamming everything and yelling at me. We were in the kitchen when he threatened me
“There’s only the two of us here, I can kill you!”
“I can kill you! Nobody’s here to stop me!”
I didn’t believe him, I thought he was only saying that out of anger.
But he stood up, not convinced he was going to do it, I stood there as he approached me angrily.
He grabbed my throat and started to choke me.
Panicking, I fought back. I tried knocking his arms away, when I did, he paused looking surprised.
He then attempted one more time.
I fought back again, blocking his hands from reaching my neck.
I can’t remember how exactly he was able to reach my face,
but after the fight, the bottom part of my right eye felt bruised,
and so did my neck. My neck felt bruised on each side.

I don’t know what to do.
I haven’t told my mom because I don’t want them fighting again.
And if they split up, I don’t want to be the reason for that.
but now it bothers me, specially just a few minutes ago when he yelled at me again at my comment
“the package was already open” (I was waiting for the clothes I ordered online).
He said I was accusing him of opening it?
He scared me, what if he attacks me just for that?
Is this normal? Or am I just being paranoid?
