   Assuming you can avoid the major convention timeframes and events, you can normally go to the Harrahs web site and see what are the latest specials for Harrahs, Casaer’s Palace, Rio, Flamingo, Ballys, Paris (all are operated by Harrahs).

   If you plan to gamble, Harrah’s Total Rewards comps can pay for most of your hotel food/service expenses (except tips and taxes).

   Depending on the dates you want to travel I have found the best travel deals on southwest vacations, (www.swavacations.com)

   The best days to travel is Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday, when I go to Vegas I leave on a Saturday mourning and return Tuesday or Wednesday.

   For example my next planned trip from Portland Oregon to Las Vegas is 9/15/07 for three nights at Bally’s, air fair and transportation to and from the hotel, all taxes for a total of $859.00 for two people.

   Circus Circus is cheaper but not as nice.

   You can also put together your own package on priceline.com, they also have vacation packages or you can bid on flight and rooms to see if you can get a better price. although there are some down sides to bidding which are not able to pick the exact hotel you want or the flight times.

   I also suggest reviewing different dates, sometimes if there are conventions or special events, the hotel rates can make the deals very hard to find.

   Plan your trip in advance and when you know the dates you what to be there and have found the deal buy the tickets, waiting for a better deal is not always worth it.
