Well here in Cali there the cakes are just made of regular cake mix– and the frosting or top of the cake is usually made up of sweet frosting or whipped cream.

Know that the timing of your wedding may affect which type of frosting to use — buttercream won’t hold up well at an outdoor wedding on the hottest day of the year. Talk to your baker about recommendations.
It supposed to be sugar frosting but it could be butter cream!!
It is a type of FONDANT. Real Fondant is made out of white chocolate. But the fake stuff is extremely waxy. it makes the cake look real nice but most of it just doesn’t taste good.
