What resort hotels reside on the North Strip in Vegas?

   some are old.
   some are new.
   check your budget.
   the strip is like 1.5 miles long.

   vegas.com yes and very good.
   also aol and yahoo travel both were good for visits.
   I live here now. I woudl check the Luxor and Monte Carlo as they both has $39 deals that are promoted on line.

   Stratosphere, Sahara, Circus Circus and Riviera are considered North Strip. I would never use hotwire for Vegas. They are so tricky in their describing location and their hotel rating is way too generous. It is better to know what hotel you are booking before you book.

   Stay as far away from hotwire as you can. Yeah its cheap but you get stuck in crappy unknow hotels that need to be ripped down

   Circus Circus e.g. is North Strip but I would also consider other hotels like Monte Carlo, MGM, Excalibur or Luxor. I would book directly with the hotel and in addition with a promotion code from http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com in order to get the best price.

   The north strip used to be nothing but old low priced properties but that dynamic has changed since New Frontier, Westward Ho and Stardust were demolished. Wynn and Encore have pushed luxury properties into the southern edge of the north strip area and Boyd Gaming is building the luxury resort Echelon at the Stardust site (which is on hold but should be completed at some point.) Sky Condos is a fairly new luxury condo tower north of Circus Circus and Crown is going up just south of the Sahara, where Wet N Wild used to be. With CityCenter construction drawing to completion, the south and center strip is pretty well filled in and stable at the moment, while the north strip still has large gaps of empty lots and is in the middle of transforming itself into something other than it was a few years ago.

   I recommend checking the hotel web sites and airline web sites first to get pricing; then compare those prices against Travelocity, Orbitz, Expedia, Hotwire etc. Unfortunately most of the airlines and hotels view you as a “second class customer” when you book through a third party like Hotwire. For instance, if you have a problem with charges or pricing they will most likely tell you to contact Hotwire rather than make any attempts to resolve the issue. I’ve booked 2 or 3 of my 18 trips to Las Vegas through sites like that and that’s been my experience.
